Golfers Dress Code - Gentlemen



In the clubhouse a smart standard of dress is expected at all times.

STRICTLY NO DENIMS OR TRAINERS ALLOWED.

Dress - all Members and Visitors are asked to observe the dress code to avoid embarrassment. If in doubt, please consult with a member of staff in the Club or Pro Shop. Rules for ladies and men do vary slightly. Ladies dress code permits shirts/blouses designed to be worn outside trousers, ie ribbed welt or side slits. Please try and use your initiative to look smart at all times.

In the Clubhouse - smart casual is the required mode of dress. Shorts not permitted after 9pm. After 8pm, for men. Square cut tailored shirts may be worn (as designed) outside trousers.

With shorts, long golf socks of any colour or short predominantly white sports socks (normal socks are not acceptable with shorts)

All shirts must have collars and must be worn tucked inside trousers/shorts

Hats and Caps should be worn correctly

Golf shoes are the only permitted footwear on the course
The following are not permitted at anytime, on the Course or within the Clubhouse

Football/Rugby Shirts
Collarless shirts or tops
Blue Denim Wear
Short shorts
Track suit Tops / Bottoms
Ordinary socks with shorts
Trainers
Sandals (with/without socks)

Golf shoes are not to be worn in the clubhouse or on the balcony

Handicap Certificates must be shown in the Professional's shop when signing in.

Society Account must be paid to the Secretary's office prior to playing the course. Your deposit will be deducted from your final account.

Tee Reservation. As an official society, we will arrange tee reservation times for you. We hope you enjoy the course and clubhouse and thank you in advance for respecting other members and visitors.

All play (for men) should be from the Yellow tee markers.

Mobile Phones - must be switched off in the Clubhouse and on the golf course. Players may use them only for medical emergencies. However, mobile phones can be used in the changing rooms and in the car parks.

Etiquette

• Please be aware of other golfers on the course at all times.
• Players should not play until those in front are no longer within range.
• Please avoid slow play. Players should keep up with the game ahead, not keep just ahead of the game behind. If there is a clear hole in front of you and players waiting in the game behind, you must call them through.

Trolleys - do not take trolleys on tees or green surrounds. Walk around green-side bunkers not between bunkers and greens.

Divots - replace all divots on fairways.

Pitch Marks - please repair YOUR pitch marks on the greens – and any others that you see.

Bunkers - all green-side bunkers have rakes, please use them.

Out of Bounds

• 5th Hole - in and to the right of the ditch running up the right hand side.

Course awareness

• 12th Hole - when approaching the right hand fairway bunker, look back to your right. Players may be on the 14th tee and playing across your fairway.

• 14th Hole: when teeing off please be aware of players to your left on the 12th fairway.

Footpaths

• 9th green to 10th tee - please use footpath next to 1st Tee and via Clubhouse. Please be aware of players on the 1st tee. Do not cut across 18th hole.

• 11th Green to 12th tee - please use gravel path down through the wood.

Working green staff have priority on the course at all times.

The entrance doors and changing room doors are kept locked for security. The Professional’s Shop will give you a swipe card for entry. Please return this before you leave.
